Uvero Alto Punta Cana

Uvero Alto is the northernmost resort zone of the Punta Cana area, on the Atlantic side, 30 kilometers north of Bavaro and 50 kilometers from the Punta Cana airport. It is the closest large resort area to Miches and Round Mountain.

Where is Uvero Alto

Uvero Alto sits on the long sand strip that runs from Macao Beach north toward Punta Cana Esperanza. The water is open Atlantic with bigger waves than Bavaro. The area was developed around 2010 with all inclusive resorts and remains less built up than the south. It is 30 minutes north of Bavaro, 45 minutes from Punta Cana airport and 60 minutes south of Miches.

Why stay in Uvero Alto for Round Mountain

Round Mountain (Montana Redonda) is 60 minutes from Uvero Alto by road, compared to 90 minutes from Bavaro and 110 minutes from the airport zone. Staying in Uvero Alto cuts almost an hour off the round trip and means you can leave later in the morning. Most Round Mountain tours offer free pickup from Uvero Alto resorts.

Uvero Alto vs Bavaro

Bavaro has more resorts, more restaurants and easier shopping, but is further from Miches. Uvero Alto has quieter beaches, less crowds, premium adults-only options and shorter day trips to the Esmeralda Coast and Samana. Choose Uvero Alto if half your trip is day trips, choose Bavaro if you want resort variety and nightlife.

How to get to Round Mountain from Uvero Alto

The standard half-day tour picks you up at your resort lobby between 7:30 and 8:30 AM, drives 60 minutes north on the Coastal Boulevard, spends 90 to 120 minutes at the swings and viewpoints, often stops at Playa Esmeralda for 60 to 90 minutes and returns to your hotel by 2 to 3 PM.
